Elizabeth Greenstein

Biography

Elizabeth (“Liz”) joined BJ in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she was a daily participant in “Zoom-Shul.”  

Liz is Chief of Staff of the NYC Mayor’s Office of Housing Recovery Operations (HRO), where she has helped lead the City’s response to Hurricanes Sandy and Ida and prepares for future disasters. Prior to joining HRO, Liz was Director of External Affairs for the NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development, where she led the development of several important public-private initiatives to support affordable housing in New York City. Before going into public service, Liz worked as a consultant to nonprofit organizations, with a particular focus on strategy and fundraising. She also served as Director of Development for City Parks Foundation and as Assistant Program Director at the Nathan Cummings Foundation. She is Vice President of the Board of the Palisades Parks Conservancy and on the International Council of the New Israel Fund.
