Soul Food: Traditional Torah with a Radical Twist
Open the other half of the Jewish bookshelf with Rabbi Felicia Sol and the study of Dirshuni: Contemporary Women’s Midrash. No previous textual experience is necessary. Each class will stand alone, so come for one or join for all. Rabbi Sol will select the midrashim and share them with the class.
Kadima@BJ
Kadima@BJ is BJ's religious school, serving grades K-6. Kadima, which means “moving forward,” is centered around building a holy community—fostering pride, joy, and excitement in our students as they learn to become full and active members of our BJ community.
Shirah with Shira
Join us for a Hebrew immersion class geared toward 3 and 4 year olds. Children will gain a sense of community rooted in Jewish tradition while gaining exposure to Israeli culture.

Building Resiliency in Later Life
The “Building Resiliency” series is a transformative six-part support group specially designed to explore the profound aspects of life and well-being for older adults. Each session delves into different themes, encouraging participants to reflect, share, and connect on a deeper level.
Haverim
Our 7th-grade program, Haverim, integrates students in both secular schools and Jewish day schools, providing a platform to explore topics that affect all teenagers, regardless of background, and preparing students for their B-Mitzvah and beyond.

In the Mirror: Lunch and Learn with Rabbi Roly Matalon
We will continue our close reading of short stories about the lives, struggles, and concerns of the Talmudic rabbis; in order to uncover deeper layers of our own selves, and to become better equipped to wrestle with our human nature.
A Taste of Talmud: Daf Yomi with Rabbi Shuli Passow
Dip into the world of daf yomi (daily Talmud study) with this weekly look at highlights from the past week’s pages. All are welcome—you do not need any prior experience studying Talmud.

Parashat Hashavua with Rabbinic Fellow Anina Dassa
Immediately following shaharit each Friday morning, join in weekly study of the Torah portion with Marshall T. Meyer Rabbinic Fellow Anina Dassa.
Bim Bam
Bim Bam gives children 3 and under a fun space to get ready for Shabbat through interactive songs, movement, and stories, while practicing traditions such as lighting candles and saying Kiddush.
Tot Shabbat
Families will enjoy a kid-friendly Kabbalat Shabbat service filled with singing and dancing. Services will be followed by a dinner complete with Shabbat blessings and songs.

On alternating weeks, join Rabbi Roly Matalon to prepare the soul and open the heart for Shabbat morning prayers through the singing of piyutim and brief reflections.

Early Childhood Families: Birth-Pre-K Shabbat Services
We offer weekly in-person Shabbat services for our families with children from birth to Pre-K. The service features lively songs, stories, and movement to help celebrate Shabbat!
Early Childhood Families: K-2 Shabbat Services
We are excited to offer this lively service, featuring Torah reading, songs, and more. This service is intended for families with children in kindergarten through 2nd grade with optional drop-off (parents must remain in the building).
Arvit and Havdalah
Join us in virtual community for arvit (the evening service), as we maintain a collective spiritual practice while supporting all those in our midst who are saying Kaddish. We will conclude with havdalah and end Shabbat together as a community.
