Veye-etayu: The Dream of Universal Redemption

This year we will sing the piyyut Veye-etayu as part of our services for the High Holy Days. This beautiful liturgical poem imagines a time of universal redemption when all will serve God—not only people and nations, but even “mountains will burst with song, and islands rejoice.”

As we enter this auspicious season with such deep and fervent prayers for redemption, both small and large, we hope you will join us in this melody, a nigun from the Vizhnitz Hasidic dynasty, which appears as part of Musaf on both Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
