Ruah: Caring
for Your Heart,
Mind, & Spirit
Ruah: Caring for Your Heart, Mind and Spirit, is BJ’s mental health initiative. Ruah means “spirit,” and we seek to provide support to members of our community who are affected by mental illness. The initiative aims to raise awareness about mental illness, health, and wellness; and to ease the stigma associated with mental illness, which can prevent people from seeking the help they need and feeling welcome in our communities.
Mental illness affects millions of Americans, and yet our mental health and wellness often go unaddressed. If you, or someone you know, is struggling, you can speak to one of our rabbis, our partners at the Jewish Board at 1-844-ONE-CALL, or Billie DiStefano, hesed programs and life cycles manager.
