Biography

Rabbi Chen Ben-Or Tsfoni is a passionate and experienced rabbi with over 25 years of leadership in Jewish community building, spiritual care, and education. A former BJ rabbinic fellow, she is deeply committed to tikkun olam and strives to bridge the gap between Israeli society and the Jewish world through innovative approaches to prayer, Jewish ritual, and inclusive spiritual practices. Rabbi Chen combines her experience in congregational leadership with a dedication to creating meaningful and contemporary ways of engaging with Jewish spirituality.

Her expertise encompasses community development, religious education, and the promotion of Jewish pluralism, with a focus on fostering intergenerational dialogue, spiritual well-being, and inclusivity within Jewish communities. Rabbi Chen is involved in writing and teaching new forms of prayer that resonate with modern times, making ancient practices accessible and relevant to today’s Jewish individuals and families.

Rabbi Chen is also involved in supporting and promoting Jewish-Palestinian relations in Israel and a member of Rabbis for Human Rights.

She is married to Guy Tsfoni and is the mother of three young adults. She is passionate about connecting Israeli society with the broader Jewish world through meaningful dialogue, innovative Jewish practices, and a commitment to spiritual and communal growth.
