Kol Nashim: A Retreat Bringing Together the Voices of Women

From the women of the Bible to the women of our own community, women’s voices—sometimes quiet, sometimes bold—have shaped Jewish tradition and sustained Jewish life. While we are grateful to live in a time when those voices can be heard more fully, there is still something transformative about gathering as women. Our shared stories, wisdom, questions, and songs create a Torah that is still unfolding, giving birth to new prayers, deeper connection, and fresh possibilities.

Join Rabbis Felicia Sol and Becca Weintraub for a Shabbat retreat at the Isabella Freedman Retreat Center. Together we’ll experience soulful prayer, inspiring learning, meaningful conversation, joyful singing, time to rest and recharge, and plenty of laughter. All female-identifying BJ members are warmly invited to this special weekend of connection, renewal, and community. We hope you’ll join us.

The retreat will take place at Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center, nestled on 400 acres in the Berkshires of northwest Connecticut. Isabella Freedman combines Jewish learning and spirituality with a strong connection to the land, home to an organic farm and rolling hills, woods, two lakes and miles of trails.

Accommodations are all climate-controlled, with rooms holding a queen bed, two twin beds, or both, and accessible rooms are available on request.

All meals are prepared in a kosher kitchen and served buffet-style, with coffee, tea, and delicious snacks available throughout the day.

Isabella Freedman Jewish Retreat Center is approximately a two-hour drive from New York City. It is also accessible via a combination of Metro North (to Wassaic) and Uber/Lyft to the retreat center in Falls Village, CT.

Like so much else these days, the cost of running immersive experiences at a beautiful retreat center has gone up. BJ is committed to subsidizing a portion of the cost because we want this retreat to stay within reach, and the price you see here reflects that subsidy.

We know that, even with this subsidy, the cost may still be a barrier for some participants. Thanks to a generous anonymous donation, we are now able to offer additional financial assistance to those who need it in order to attend. To request financial assistance, please complete this form. Payment plans are also available to help spread out the cost.

Pricing

• Double occupancy: $700 (per person)
• Single occupancy: $900

Pricing includes two nights of accommodations; all snacks and meals beginning Friday afternoon; linens; and retreat programming.

You may pay online by ACH or credit card; if paying by credit card, an additional 3% will be added to the total cost.

Please note that the full amount is due by October 15, 2026. For registrations made on or after September 15, the first two installments will be due upon registration.

Cancellation

Unfortunately, full refunds for this retreat are not possible. Cancellations made in writing (to lmckinney@bj.org) up until September 1, 2026 will receive a 50% refund. We are not able to provide refunds for cancellations made after September 1, 2026.
