Professor Yuval Shany is the Hersch Lauterpacht Chair in Public International Law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He served as Dean of the Hebrew University Faculty of Law in 2012-2016 and is currently the director of the Cyber Law Program of the University’s Federmann Cyber Security Research Center. He also serves as Vice-President for Research at the Israel Democracy Institute. Between 2013-2020 Shany served as a member of the Human Rights Committee in Geneva and was Chair of the Committee in 2018-2019. Shany’s research focuses on international courts and tribunals, international human rights law, international humanitarian law, and international law in cyberspace.
