Ongoing events in the Middle East, the United States, and beyond raise pressing questions about how international law—and our shared sense of global justice—intersects with actions involving Israel. The conversation can feel polarizing and emotionally charged, often leading to circular debates.

In this session, Dr. Alexander Loengarov invites us to take a step back and explore the broader framework of international law, offering insight into its principles and how they relate to the Israeli-Palestinian context. Rather than provide easy answers, this conversation aims to open space for learning, reflection, and thoughtful dialogue. The views he shares are his own.

Dr. Alexander Loengarov oversaw the EU’s first academic grant program involving both Israeli and Palestinian partners. A senior fellow in international law, he has published widely in Europe and the US, and previously worked as a lawyer and translator at the European Economic and Social Committee.
