Dive into powerful literature alongside community members of B’nai Jeshurun and St. Paul & St. Andrew, as we join together in exploring books that amplify social justice themes. Each month, we’ll gather together in person to reflect on and discuss our monthly read. We’ll read both fiction and nonfiction works that wrestle with the intersecting injustices we collectively face.

This month we’re reading Still Born by Guadalupe Nettel, translated by Rosalind Harvey. Still Born is the story of two independent and career-driven women in their mid-thirties, neither of whom have built their future around the prospect of a family. One has taken the drastic decision to be sterilised, but as time goes by the other becomes drawn to the idea of becoming a mother.
