Rooted in the Jewish values of justice and equality, Tzedek America’s Civil Rights Journey offers BJ 8th and 9th graders a powerful opportunity to explore the American South through the lens of the Civil Rights Movement. From Memphis to Montgomery, Selma to Atlanta, students will stand where history was made—visiting iconic sites, meeting changemakers, and uncovering the stories of those who risked everything in the pursuit of freedom. Along the way, they’ll draw meaningful connections between Jewish tradition and the ongoing fight for racial justice today.
