Yom HaShoah Commemoration and Film Screening: The Last Survivors
Mark Yom HaShoah in sacred community, as we gather for prayer, ritual, and music in the presence of BJ’s Shoah Megillah—inscribed with the names of BJ family members who perished in the Holocaust.
At approximately 8:00 PM, we will screen the PBS documentary The Last Survivors. As young children, they endured the Holocaust; more than seventy years after World War II, some of the last remaining survivors reflect on their memories and the lasting trauma they carry. This haunting film explores how unimaginable loss and early childhood trauma continued to shape the daily lives, relationships, and inner worlds of some of the Holocaust’s youngest victims—from survivor’s guilt and crises of faith to the enduring impact of second-generation trauma.
Please note: The livestream will conclude prior to the film screening. (Those joining online can make their own plans to view the film.)
