Join us for a film screening of The Interview, a powerful short film on the injustices of New York’s parole system, followed by a panel discussion with formerly incarcerated individuals and others directly impacted by New York’s carceral system.

Following the screening, hear directly from those most impacted by the carceral system in a panel discussion moderated by Rabbi Hilly Haber, Director of Social Justice Organizing and Education at Central Synagogue.

Our esteemed panelists include:

  • Jose Saldana, Director of Release Aging People in Prison (RAPP is a grassroots advocacy campaign created and led by formerly incarcerated people), who served 38 years in incarceration
  • Roslyn Smith, RAPP’s Brooklyn Community Leader, who served 39 years in incarceration
  • Theresa Moses, RAPP’s Manhattan Community Leader, and impacted family member
  • Stanley Bellamy, RAPP’s NYC Community Organizer, who served 37.5 years in incarceration

Together, we’ll examine the urgent need for parole reform and explore ways to support justice and dignity for all New Yorkers.

The event is co-sponsored by Bend the Arc: Jewish Action-Riverdale, New York Jewish Coalition for Criminal Justice Reform, New York Jewish Agenda, and Central Synagogue, as well as B’nai Jeshurun.
