Criminal Justice Working Group
All events in seriesThe BJ Criminal Justice Working Group brings together BJ members committed to making criminal justice reform a more visible and vital part of our community’s pursuit of justice.
Grounded in Jewish values of human dignity, the sanctity of human life, teshuvah, and our responsibility to pursue justice, the group will learn together, build relationships, bear witness through regular participation in Jewish worship services at Rikers Island, and take collective action to advance meaningful reform.
At a moment of significant opportunity for change in New York City and State, the Working Group will serve as BJ’s home for sustained engagement on criminal justice reform.
