Help WSCAH Fight Hunger During the Holidays with the Healthy Food Challenge
As we approach the Thanksgiving season, over 1.4 million New Yorkers will face devastating choices between food for their families or other basic needs. With food insecurity on the rise, especially here in New York City, the urgency to address hunger has never been greater. That’s why we’re partnering once again with the West Side Campaign Against Hunger (WSCAH) to meet this challenge head on.
Through WSCAH’s Healthy Food Challenge, you have the power to make a difference. Join us in answering this call to action and help us reach BJ’s fundraising goal of $25,000.
Over the past year, the hunger crisis has deepened dramatically. Federal funding cuts totaling more than $90 million are threatening the stability of New York City’s emergency food network at the very moment when demand is soaring. Pantry use has more than doubled since 2019, and with rent and grocery prices rising faster than incomes, this affordability crisis is evident as the share of full-time workers relying on food pantries has doubled compared to historical levels.
Now, more than ever, WSCAH needs our help to provide healthy food options to families, seniors, and individuals across the city.
Here’s how you can help make this season one of abundance for all
