Lisa Mednick-Owen
Biography
Lisa and her husband Steve have been active members of BJ since 1995, and their sons Alex and Teddy grew up attending its Hebrew School and teen programs. Lisa has been involved in various committees and initiatives at BJ, including the Hebrew School Advisory Board and the Leadership Team of the Refugee and Immigration Committee, where her work included organizing several events for the Synagogue Coalition on the Refugee and Immigration Crisis. She currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Board Engagement Committee and has been involved in several Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives and projects. Lisa has a BA from UC Berkeley, a law degree from George Washington University, and certificates from NYU in Arts Administration and Fundraising & Development. She has been a member of several boards and leadership councils in the education, arts, and social justice fields, and she currently sits on the Board of the Jewish Women’s Archive. Lisa is also a docent at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she gives tours to school groups. One of her current projects is developing an adult cross-cultural tour at the Met on Spirituality in Art.
