Jack Stern, MD, PhD, is a Clinical Professor of Neurosurgery at New York Medical College and the founder of Brain and Spine Surgeons of NY and Safe Passage Neuromonitoring. He is the author of Ending Back Pain, published by Penguin Press, and has served as President of the Board of Governors of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. In 2024, he received the Distinguished Alumni Clinician Award from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. A longtime BJ member, Jack brings a clinician’s insight and a moral lens to his engagement with Jewish texts, writing on responsibility, memory, and ethical courage.
