When I first graduated college, I was looking for a “Jewish home” for the next chapter of my life in New York. BJ’s warmth and welcoming, the spirit and values of community all made me feel like this was a place I wanted to belong, but BJ’s Aviv cohort actually made me feel like I do. At Aviv dinners, I know I have a place for Shabbat community; with its creative programming, I know I will always find something that connects with my own interests. Aviv is also a place for me to contribute and give back to this community. Whether through reciting Kiddush at a dinner or moderating a panel on Jewish feminism, I feel like Aviv wants to incorporate who I am—my talents and my spirit—as part of this vibrant community.
