Yom Hashoah Commemoration and Film Screening: Etty Hillesum: Search for a Writer in Wartime

Sanctuary 257 West 88th Street, New York

Join us for a powerful commemoration of Yom Hashoah, as we come together for prayer, music, and ritual, in the presence of BJ’s Shoah Megillah, holding the names of family members of the BJ community who perished in the Holocaust. This year’s commemoration will also feature a screening of the film Etty Hillesum: Search for a Writer in Wartime.

Reading of the Names

Sanctuary 257 West 88th Street, New York

For 25 consecutive years, the Upper West Side community has gathered to read the names of those among the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust. We come together this year for the 25th anniversary of this gathering, to read the names at BJ, where this Upper West Side ritual first began.
