Post-Election Day Community Conversation
This year’s NYC mayoral election, with Israel, Zionism, and antisemitism at the center of public debate, has generated deep contention and strife within the Jewish community, intensifying existing polarization and causing much pain and fear. No matter who wins on November 4, there will certainly be a range of emotions, concerns, and hopes within our community.
As a religious community, we do not shy away from difficult issues or from the differences that live among us. To that end, we will gather after the election to share what we are holding, to listen to one another with generosity of spirit, and to wrestle together with the challenges this election has surfaced, both individually and collectively.
