Justice and Sacred Partnership: A Conversation with Rabbi Roly Matalon and Rev. K. Karpen
Rabbi Roly Matalon and Rev. K. Karpen will reflect on nearly four decades of sacred partnership between BJ and SPSA—what this enduring relationship has meant for our communities, how walking together has expanded and deepened our understanding of faith, and how it has shaped our shared commitment to justice. They will speak about the gift of sustained interfaith friendship—about what becomes possible when spiritual leaders and their communities choose to walk side by side, grounded in deeply held traditions and a shared moral vision, year after year in friendship, faith, and moral courage.
Following a Shabbat service in which they will share reflections on the Torah portion from the bimah, and after community Kiddush, the conversation deepens. Rabbi Roly Matalon and Rev. K. Karpen will engage in a more in-depth dialogue, moderated by Rabbi Felicia Sol. This extended gathering will offer space for storytelling, memory, and reflection on what this sacred partnership has made possible over four decades.
Registration is requested for the post-Kiddush conversation.
