Community Shabbat Dinner with BJ Rabbinic Fellowship Alumni
This Shabbat, we welcome back alumni of the BJ Rabbinic Fellowship from across the country for a weekend reflecting on Rabbi Roly Matalon’s enduring role as a mentor and teacher. Over decades, Roly has helped shape a generation of rabbis—guiding their spiritual formation, deepening their Torah, and modeling a rabbinate rooted in integrity, creativity, and love of community.
Our fellows will be with us all Shabbat long, lending their voices to prayer, learning, and conversation. Gather for a festive community dinner and the opportunity to reconnect with these remarkable rabbis as we begin a weekend of reflection and gratitude.
With a sliding scale fee, we encourage you to register at the price that’s right for you.

It is our intention that everyone who wants to celebrate Shabbat in community is able to do so. Our tiered pricing system strives to make these dinners accessible to all. Due to increases in costs, we have had to raise the prices for all three tiers. Even so, these prices do not reflect the full cost of the dinner. If you are able, please consider making an additional donation to help support this Shabbat program.
Registration closes at noon on the day before the dinner, or when sold out.
Gluten-free and vegan options will be available. Menu items that contain peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, and soy will always be noted on the menu.
Finances should not be a barrier to entry. If you need additional support to attend the dinner, please contact Rabbi Shuli Passow at spassow@bj.org.
