Carole King: She Made the Earth Move
BJ’s Micki Levin Concert Series presents a powerful evening of story and song tracing the life, music, and impact of Carole King—from her Jewish Brooklyn beginnings to her enduring place in the American songbook.
Inspired by Jane Eisner’s book of the same name, this concert weaves Carole King’s iconic music with Eisner’s narration, illuminating both the public triumphs and private struggles that shaped a legendary career. From Brill Building classics to the intimate power of Tapestry, the evening explores how King’s voice helped define generations—and how she found her own.
This concert is developed and music directed by BJ Music Director Dan Nadel (guitar); and also features Nia Drummond, Shira Averbuch, and Shira Bodnar (vocals); Vitor Gonçalves (piano, accordion); Inbar Paz (bass); and Satoshi Takeishi (drums).
Together, they bring new depth and resonance to songs that still move the earth beneath us.
In person registration closes on Thursday, March 19 at 6:30 PM.
