In partnership with the Synagogue Coalition on the Refugee and Immigration Crisis, join us for an inspirational film screening of All We Carry—the 2024 award-winning documentary by Director Cady Voge that follows a young family’s extraordinary journey fleeing persecution from narcotraffickers in Honduras and enduring months in U.S. detention. Upon their release, a local synagogue sponsors the family as they await the final decision on their asylum case. Over three years, the family navigates countless life-altering and everyday moments where memory, joy, and grief collide. All We Carry is a love story about a family that finds community in an unexpected place while working to heal from their past.

With ever-growing risks to immigrant communities, this film offers an opportunity to reflect on the resilience of those seeking safety and the role we can play in creating welcoming spaces. This event is being held as part of HIAS’ 7th annual national Refugee Shabbat.

The event will include a brief talk-back after the film, and homemade food will be available for purchase from directly impacted immigrant members of the community.
