Alexandra Stern

Biography

Alexandra has been a member of BJ since 1996. She has worked with the UJA Caring Commission and served on BJ’s Core Campaign and Strategic Planning Committees. She has been an advocate for mental health care in college and for medical students and has an abiding interest in providing mental health care to the underserved. Alexandra grew up outside of Boston, and attended Harvard College and Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons. She trained in psychiatry at the Payne Whitney Clinic. She sees patients in her private practice as well as at the Bellevue Hospital Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic. Alexandra has two daughters (Isabel and Rebecca) and twin stepsons (Parker and Harrison). She lives with her husband, David Stern, and their children on the Upper West Side.
