Ronen Koehler
Biography
Ronen is a skilled inter-disciplinary executive and consultant with both a technology and military background.
His experience includes over 40 years in the Israeli Navy, including 17 years as an active service member. While active, Ronen served as a commander in the navy, both a missile boat and a submarine captain, and as an internal audit leader for 17 years (presently ranked Colonel, Reserve). In the last 20 years, Ronen was an executive in two of Israel’s IT flagship companies. Check Point software technologies and Outbrain. In Check Point, Ronen was the operations group leader and the Global Head of Human Resources reporting to the CEO. In this role, Ronen led organizational changes on a global basis, mergers, acquisitions, executive hiring, leadership development, and internal consulting. At Outbrain, Ronen was the executive in charge of people and culture.
Ronen holds degrees from the Hebrew University and participated in the HR executive program at Stanford University graduate school.
Ronen is a social activist. Some of these activities include being the founding member of the Migdalor – Israel Naval academy Alumni group, being the chairman of BTI, Beit Tefila Israeli (a pluralist Israeli – Jewish community in Tel Aviv) the head of the Tel Aviv Sea Scouts group.
Since January 2023 Ronen has been a leader in the Brothers and Sisters in Arms social movement which is one of the prominent movements in the Israeli civil protest. Brothers and Sisters in Arms changed its focus on October 7 to become the largest civil aid group in Israel. Ronen is an avid professional ocean sailor. He lives in Tel Aviv, married to Tali and father of Gai and Noga–both currently in the IDF–and Adi, an 11th-grade student.
