SUMMARY:7th Grade Trip to Washington\, D.C.
DESCRIPTION:Our annual trip to Washington\, D.C. provides the opportunity for our students to further their learning about the Holocaust\, while bonding with their peers and connecting to the BJ community outside of the classroom. We will visit the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum\, tour monuments\, celebrate Shabbat together\, and reflect on our experiences. \nWe will leave Friday\, March 10\, 2023 at 7:15 AM and we will return on Sunday\, March 12 around 6:30 PM\, to maximize our time and ensure a meaningful experience. \nThis program is included for all students enrolled in Haverim ‘22-’23 (current 7th graders) or it can be purchased for $450. We hope you will consider joining us for this special trip. \nRegister Now\nRegistration closes January 12\, 2023.  \nWhat are our current Covid Protocols for this trip?\n\nAs of now\, masks are optional for the entirety of the trip.\nAll participants must provide proof of negative PCR test results within 3 days (72 hours) of arrival for the trip.\nAll participants will receive an antigen test upon arrival on Friday morning.\nIf a participant tests positive for Covid-19 while on the trip\, they will need to quarantine and a parent or guardian would have to travel to our destination and take over responsibility for the participant.\n\nPlease note these protocols are subject to change.

DESCRIPTION:Last month’s Israel-Gaza violence was accompanied by an unprecedented outburst of antisemitism in the U.S.\, with Jews being physically assaulted and verbally harassed\, and Jewish sites suffering damaging vandalism. \nOn Sunday\, a diverse group of American Jews — left-wing and right-wing\, secular and religious — and non-Jewish allies will gather together in the nation’s capital\, Washington\, D.C.\, to speak out against antisemitism in one voice\, in a powerful display of cross-communal unity. \nThe “NO FEAR: Rally in Solidarity with the Jewish People” is being co-sponsored by the Alliance for Israel\, Anti-Defamation League\, American Jewish Committee\, and B’nai B’rith International\, dozens of other ogranizations and will feature Elisha Wiesel — son of the late Holocaust survivor and Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel. \nFree bus service is available from and to New York City.
