SUMMARY:Turnout Tuesdays with Reclaim our Vote
DESCRIPTION:Every year\, eligible voters of color are being purged from voter rolls at a much higher rate than white voters. We are proud to join with a coalition of UWS faith communities to partner with the Reclaim our Vote (ROV) Campaign in fighting voter suppression. As we get closer to the election\, phone banking becomes an even more critical tool for voter engagement. Every other Tuesday\, starting on September 8\, we will be phone banking to offer crucial information to help voters avoid long lines and voter intimidation on election day and to make sure their votes count. Each session will take place on Zoom and begin with a training led by Laura\, ROV’s Manhattan Regional Coordinator\, followed by phone banking. A cell phone or landline and a tablet\, desktop\, or laptop are required to participate. \nIf you have not participated in one of our phone banking sessions before\, please make sure to watch Reclaim our Vote’s Phone Banking Training Video. All other materials will be sent to registrants a few days before each session.  \nJoin Us on September 8\nJoin Us on September 22\nJoin Us on October 6\nJoin Us on October 20\nContact Larissa Wohl with any questions.

DESCRIPTION:Journey through Elul with the Institute for Jewish Spirituality’s Shofar Project in a special cohort for BJ members led by BJ Board member Marvin Israelow. Each week will focus on a different aspect of awakening and renewal\, elevated by online offerings of spiritual practice in meditation\, text study\, and yoga. This group will process and journey through this experience together\, rooted in themes of opening the heart\, hearing the pain of the world\, returning to compassion\, and transforming into an instrument of justice. Register now to participate in this special cohort exclusively for BJ members. \nAll participants must separately register with the Institute for Jewish Spirituality (IJS) by August 21\, in order to receive all materials. Upon registering\, be sure to sign up for the FREE four-week Elul intensive. \nRegister with BJ\nRegister with IJS\n  \nPlease note that this program is exclusively for BJ members in good standing.
