SUMMARY:Phone Banking Marathon with Reclaim our Vote
DESCRIPTION:The UWS Voter Engagement Coalition is following up on our successful Turnout Tuesdays with a phone banking marathon the week leading up to the November 3 election. Along with our partners\, we’ve made calls to thousands of voters connecting them with the information they need to exercise their right to vote.  \nEvery year\, eligible voters of color are being purged from voter rolls at a much higher rate than white voters. As we get closer to the election\, phone banking becomes an even more critical tool for voter engagement. Join us for a week of phone banking to offer crucial information to help voters avoid long lines and voter intimidation on election day and to make sure their votes count. Each session will take place on Zoom and begin with a training led by a Reclaim our Vote volunteer\, followed by phone banking. A cell phone or landline and a tablet\, desktop\, or laptop are required to participate. \nIf you have not participated in one of our phone banking sessions before\, please make sure to watch Reclaim our Vote’s Phone Banking Training Video. All other materials will be sent to registrants a few days before each session. Questions? Contact Larissa.  \n  \nRegister for Monday October 26\, 3:00-5:00PM  \nRegister for Tuesday October 27\, 7:00-9:00PM\nRegister for Wednesday October 28\, 4:00-6:00PM\nRegister for Thursday October 29\, 12:00-2:00PM\n Register for Friday\, October 30\, 2:00-4:00PM

SUMMARY:Tzedakah and the Other
DESCRIPTION:Wednesdays with Hadar- Unit 1 \nTzedakah and the Other – The Jewish Approach to Giving and Supporting Those in Need with Rabbi Elie Kaunfer and Rabbi Avi Killip \nGiving money to support others is a core Jewish value. But what are the practical parameters of this mitzvah? To whom do we give? How much? How often? How do we prioritize needs? Similarly\, supporting those who are homeless is a central Jewish activity. But how do we balance that with fears and concerns for safety? What is behind those fears? Join us as we embark on an exploration of what it means to give through a Jewish lens. \nThis unit is free for BJ members\, and $60 for non-members. \nRegister Now\nThis series is sponsored by Helena Diamant Glass in memory of her beloved parents Regina Landwirth Diamant & Karl Diamant. \n             \n

\nRegister Now\n             \n
