DESCRIPTION:Beginning in May\, we will be offering weekly in-person Shabbat services for our Young Families community\, led by Shira Averbuch and others. The service will feature lively songs\, stories\, and movement for families with children 0-7 years old.  \nPlease note\, that due to our COVID safety protocol\, we will be limiting each service to 10 family units. DESCRIPTION:Transition out of the work week and settle into a Shabbat heart and mindset through meditation and contemplative spiritual practice with Rabbi Sam Feinsmith. \nRabbi Sam Feinsmith is a Program Director at the Institute for Jewish Spirituality\, co-directing the Clergy Leadership Program and the Educating for a Jewish Spiritual Life program for Jewish day schools. Previously\, he taught Judaic Studies at Chicagoland Jewish High School\, Illinois\, and the Heschel School in NY\, where he did cutting-edge work on teen spirituality and mindfulness. He holds semicha from YCT and an MA in Talmud from JTS. He is a co-founder and meditation teacher at Orot: Center for New Jewish Learning\, and has served as a consultant on a number of innovative prayer and minyan-related projects. He served as a Kol Tzedek Fellow for American Jewish World Service\, and volunteered in Cambodia with their Volunteer Corps. You are still welcome!  \nRegister Now\n  \nSession 1: Virtual Museum Visit and Discussion  \nJoin us as we explore the virtual exhibit Activism\, New York featured at the Museum for the City of New York and meet Jenna from the Jewish Museum\, followed by small group discussions. \nOur Presenter: \nJenna Weiss currently serves as Manager of Public Programs at the Jewish Museum\, where she is responsible for the conception and implementation of diverse and rigorous temporary exhibition and collection related programming for adult audiences. Joining the staff in 2012 during a transition to new leadership has given her the ability to be part of this organization as it continues to reexamine\, broaden and investigate the locus of art and Jewish culture.\nWeiss previously held positions in Museum Education as the Spiegel Fellow at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia\, and as Visitor Services Coordinator of the Rose Museum of Contemporary Art at Brandeis University. She has taught courses in painting and drawing as an Adjunct Lecturer at Tyler School of Art\, Temple University and Caldwell College\, Caldwell\, NJ. She holds a BA in Studio Art and Art History from Brandeis University\, and earned her MFA in Painting at Tyler School of Art\, Temple University. She is an alum of Asylum Arts\, a global network of Jewish Artists\, Schusterman Foundation ROI Summit\, and Getty Leadership Institute\, NextGen 2019. In addition to her work in Museums\, Weiss maintains an active studio practice and has been a resident of the Chashama Space to Create program at the Brooklyn Army Terminal in Sunset Park since 2011.
